An Army leader said Arundel High School students captured the true meaning of Memorial Day yesterday when they unveiled a gray granite monument commemorating the school's graduates who have died in recent wars.

The monument - believed to be the only one of its kind at a county high school - was purchased by anonymous donors at a cost of about $1,600, and is mounted next to the school's flagpole.
