Officer Edwin Caraballo, 28, a patrolman with one year on the force, suffered knee and arm injuries and was knocked unconscious when his 2004 Suzuki 600 ran into the rear of a construction truck around 11 p.m., state police said.
Police were called to the scene at I-95 and Route 216 in Scaggsville, where they found Caraballo unconscious in the roadway. Howard County Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene attempting to revive him, police said.
