Under the hot summer sun, that's how many people govern the grills at Sandy Point State Park. But under a new state policy announced this spring, come fall, park patrons will have to ditch the alcohol or face a fine.
So this will be the last summer of cracking open a beer at cookouts at picnic tables at Sandy Point, which is located adjacent to the Bay Bridge.
Maryland Park Service officials said for the most part alcohol no longer will be permitted in state parks as of Nov. 1, and only will be allowed in designated picnic shelters with a $35 permit from the park manager. If...

People this is just wrong. But marijuana is illegal and people still smoke it at the park so obviously this prohibition will not harm those truly determined to drink.
Legalize it.
