Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts celebrates 30th anniversary

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts means many things to many people, but for the late Dr. Richard Massing, it was a source of therapy as he battled cancer.

The dentist was part of the Portrait Co-op at the Annapolis center and looked forward to the weekly classes when he'd mingle with other amateur artists and put brush to canvas to depict men and women of all ages.

"He was not a big talker, but you could tell he was joyful coming to class," said his widow, Marie Massing of Annapolis.
