A Naval Academy midshipman accused of smuggling about 153 pounds of marijuana into the country from Mexico in June is also charged with breaking into a California home at gunpoint last year, assaulting and tying up the male occupant, and stealing $12,000 and 120 pounds of the drug from the residence. The authorities and the Academy were not aware of his home invasion until after he was arrested for smuggling pot. He was not arrested in 2008.
