Violent crime plunged 44 percent in the first six months of the year compared to the same period in 2008, according to a statistical report compiled by the Annapolis Police Department.
Part 1 crime - including violent crimes, burglaries, larcenies and car thefts - dropped 51 percent between this year and last. Property crime was down 52 percent.

In an enviornment where we mostly read negative storys about crime and violence, and although that will also be an issue, it's refreshing to read an article where there is such a boost in positive numbers, and where we the city residences can see the proactive efforts of the police force are paying off. Keep up the upward trend.
