A small trickle of electricity may come from a power plant planned for an old city landfill, the first jolt of juice from an energy park officials want to build off Defense Highway near Parole.
The plant wouldn't produce any carbon gases and would use renewable energy from sources including solar panels and biomass converters - specialized devices that superheat vegetation and use the resulting gases as a clean-burning fuel.
