A military judge yesterday sentenced a former Naval Academy football player to two years in prison for stealing teammates' charge cards and buying stereo headphones he said he sold to raise money for his mother.

The school I attended states that "a cadet does not lie,cheat, or steal nor tolerate those who do"- No passing judgement but please don't place blame on everything and everyone except yourself. We all make choices every day, good ones and bad ones.

To get into the Academy is a process that takes alot of hard work and inner fortitude. Coming from a backround like this is harder still. It's a shame that his mother put the pressure on him to help her financially. He did it because he loved his mother and not because he was your usual thief. She ruined his career because of putting her burden on him. I wonder if she feels guilty?

to blame his mother is just pathetic..... you stole because you are a flat out theif...and you should not involve your mother....the best of the best go to the naval academy....this man was going to lead men....thank god he was caught now...
