Man gets 20 years for child abusePublished 11/13/09
A Glen Burnie man was sentenced yesterday to 20 years in prison for assaulting his 5-month-old son last year. Andre Nathaniel Robinson, 31, looked around in disbelief after the sentence was read and yelled for his wife to tell the judge that he had not hurt their son on purpose. "She's a liar!" he shouted repeatedly while his family members wept in the Annapolis courtroom. Circuit Court Judge Paul A. Hackner didn't comment on the case; he simply read the sentence of 25 years with all but 20 years suspended. After Robinson is released, he'll be on probation for five years. He also was ordered not to...

I agree with Ann, where is the justice in the justice system? What are the judges telling these psychopaths, if you kill an innocent child you will spend less time in prison than if you injure him/her? The courts are in need of a major overhaul because no child deserves to be beaten, abused, neglected, or killed and anyone that does any of those things should have mandatory sentences. There should be no compromises when a child is the victim..ever!

Interesting... - 2009-11-13 16:06:33
how the man whom killed his one month old baby only got 18 months in jail and this man gets 20 years. Not that he doesnt deserve it because he certainly does. Actually he deserves much worse than that however, how can one judge sentence so lenient and the other much more harshly? Aren't there some sort of guidelines that would make sentencing similar for similar cases?
