With mating season at its peak, lovelorn deer are darting across area roadways this month in pursuit of potential mates, putting themselves and drivers in danger, often during morning and evening rush hour, authorities warn. Officials from the State Highway Administration and state Department of Natural Resources are warning motorists to stay alert, watch your speed, and not to brake or veer for deer in your path.
