But the consumer demand for cheaper food is driving down the prices of groceries to the extent that this year's Thanksgiving dinner will be less expensive - at about $4.29 per person compared to $4.46 for last year's plate.
According to the American Farm Bureau Federation's recent survey, a turkey, cranberries, pumpkin pie, stuffing and all the other ingredients used in the typical holiday meal have, in total, declined 4 percent since 2008.

What makes you think that fuel is the only issue regarding food prices. The newspaper has pages other than the comment page.

The grocery industry has never corrected the prices after fuel prices returned to 'normal'. We all should do what we can to eat less, and break the back of the food industry. We are being robbed blind.
