City election board seeks new powersPublished 11/20/09
In the wake of a campaign that saw the Democratic nominee for mayor withdraw under questionable circumstances, the city elections board wants to have more authority to address problems during the campaign season. After meeting behind closed doors yesterday afternoon, members of the city Board of Supervisors of Elections said they may seek the power to investigate improprieties and, if necessary, sanction candidates.
