I love you uncle russell - 2010-02-20 19:33:42

Uncle Russell and Aunt Hazel were so kind to my mom Jane Saxon Uncle russell loved my mom so very much as my mom loved him like a brother she told me.Uncle Russell was the youngest of the boys and the oldest was my Grand Daddy Sears. Uncle russ use to tell me about my Grand father as I never had a chance to meet him. But I know My mother missed her dad so very much he was her sun moon and air. But I think having Uncle Russell around kind of reminded my mother of her daddy and it made their relationship much more important to both of them. Love you aunt hazle and I will miss uncle russell. Another good man gone - 2010-02-20 08:50:33

I remember one incident when I was a volunteer at 40 on Jennifer Road; I was on the apron scrubbing lengths of hose and Russ came out; when he did, an inmate at the Detention Center yelled "Hey, stupid!", and Russell - without missing a beat, yelled back "If I'm so stupid how come I'm out here and you're in there!?" I just chuckled, Russell muttered something under his breath and the inmate left the window. Still makes me chuckle remembering that exchange.
