County police Friday charged Dominic Richard Sanchez, 30, of the 400 block of Cambria Street in Baltimore, with conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree murder and other related offenses in the July 15 shooting death of Lamont Gordon Jr.

Sanchez was having an affair with Gordon's wife - who has not been named - and allegedly recruited acquaintance Joseph Samuel Serio, 30, of Glen Burnie, to kill Gordon, according to the charging documents.

A witness told police Gordon's wife and Sanchez "had been involved in an ongoing sexual relationship." The witness told investigators Sanchez confessed that he'd convinced Serio "to murder Lamont Gordon (Junior)," the documents said.

Gordon, 28, was found just after 7 a.m. in the 7900 block of Summer Rain Court, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witness statements and ballistic evidence linked Serio to the crime, but Serio had left for Miami shortly after the killing, police said.

Serio, of the 7800 block of Bruton Drive in Glen Burnie, was arrested July 21 in Miami.

After Serio was extradited from Florida, county police charged him with first- and second-degree murder, use of a handgun in a violent crime and handgun possession. He is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Parole awaiting trial in June, electronic court records show.

At about 7 p.m. Friday, officers arrested Sanchez at his Baltimore home without incident.

He is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

Gordon was the first of two people apparently killed because of jealousy in the same neighborhood.

Patrick Bertram Rhys, 49, was charged with killing his girlfriend at their home in the 400 block of Summer Wind Way on New Year's Day. He told police he stabbed girlfriend Gloria Tongue to death after discovering a voicemail from another man on her cell phone, court documents said.

Rhys told officers he got into an argument with Tongue, 49. He said the fight escalated and he stabbed Tongue in the neck, according to charging documents.

He was charged with first- and second-degree murder and second-degree assault, and is being held at Jennifer Road Detention Center awaiting trial in mid-June.
