An honor - 2010-05-07 18:42:27

I had the distinct honor to meet three distinguished men who persevered through long years as POWs: James Stockdale, Bill Lawrence and Jack Fellowes. All three possessed impressive intellects, outlooks and personalities. I crossed paths with Capt. Fellows the most and I'm not surprised to learn that he was known as "Happy Jack." What a positive presence he was despite having spent years facing death thousands of miles from home.

I remember Capt.Jack when he worked at the General Assembly. He would sometimes gather the bills I needed and joke about how interesting the bills were to read we both new uninteresting to us the bills were . Capt.Jack would say " don't get caught reading that stuff" as if it were porn we both would laught. For all he been through he was a very accepting person.

Capt. Jack - 2010-05-06 19:21:01

I was honored to hear him tell the story of the Christmas orange during a training session at the Annapolis Police Dept. He was a volunteer there and always had a smile and something nice to say. It was an honor, sir.

CAPTAIN FELLOWES - 2010-05-06 17:33:08

As an enlisted Athletic Trainer stationed at the Naval Academy I had the honor to have met Captain Fellowes. I enjoyed his stories, his humor, his wit, his love for life and admired his integrity and honor for country. This is a great loss of a great man. He was what is great about the Naval Academy. Captain, you will be greatly missed.

I so very fortunate to meet and sit with Capt. Jack Fellowes a few years back at the Capital's annual carrier banquet. The evening was a highlight for me to be able to meet and converse with this wonderful man. A gentleman and true Americn hero.
