Once a year since 2006, ESPN has hosted a "My Wish" series on "SportsCenter." During the annual five-episode series, cast and crew work with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to pair up children with life-threatening medical conditions and their sports heroes.

Brett Lisikatos is having fun talking to Travis Pastrana, left, as he plays host to Brett and his brother Craig as part of an ESPN and Make-a-Wish Foundation wish-granting for Brett. Last October, Brett was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a childhood cancer. With surgery and chemotherapy, Brett beat the disease earlier this year.
This year it was Brett Lisikatos' turn, and he had some local help.
A crew from "SportsCenter" descended on Annapolis Friday to introduce 16-year-old Brett of Wappinger Falls, N.Y., to his sports hero - Davidsonville daredevil Travis Pastrana.
The ESPN team plotted an elaborate scheme so that the Pastrana wish would be a surprise. Working...

This is a wonderful story. Travis went through local schools a few years ahead of my sons and they often commented he was a great guy.
I'm not so sure that Davidsonville is "a short 15-minute drive from the Naval Academy" though. Not in our traffic.
