When Robert Blackburn Hewitt died of a heart attack in 2007, the Arnold resident's longtime attorney estimated his estate at almost $4.7 million.

He told Hewitt's widow that she and her two sons "would never have to want anything," according to a lawsuit filed in Circuit Court.

But two years later, that same attorney, Steven B. Preller, turned around and told Tina Hewitt Sargent she was broke and facing foreclosure on an investment property she didn't know she owned.

Attorneys for Sargent and her sons, Robert Brett Hewitt and Ryan Hewitt, now claim Preller entered into at least six...

Frank Leniek real address - 2010-08-16 10:08:02

I saw in court documents that the court is trying to serve Frank Leniek and his Jamerican Properties at Annapolis address.
Leniek lives at 7609 B St. Chesapeake Beach 20734, Calvert County, Maryland. He has been living there for at least 10 years. Annapolis address is just a property he owns. As one can imagine, he is never at the Annapolis address, so the court could never find him, and all the letters or intents to serve him go without any results.
Even if one try to serve him in Chesapeake Beach he will tell you that he is not Leniek, that "Frank is now in Florida" or he will just not answer his door. He drives dark green Cadillac that he park either in front of his house or on one of the side streets (usually 14th St). He will often park it on 14th street so that the house looks empty at it seems that no one is home. If the car is around, he is home!

Hmmm - 2010-08-04 22:15:00

Well, well, well. What a story. How does it feel Mrs. Sargent to be on the other end? I hope this case stays in the courts for years to come and you come out of it pennyless.

Allegations - 2010-08-02 17:24:56

paint a bleak picture. Let's hope Mr. Preller (and his partners) have insurance, because it's doubtful they have any cash. Unbelieveable, he just put his hand in his your client's pocket. A couple years in jail will make it all clear. Good luck to Ms. Sargent and her family.

Changes Needed - 2010-08-02 15:36:38

This type of thing happens all the time. The state of Md needs to have a rule that is either initiated by the Bar Assn or the State Code where an attorney cannot be a Trustee for a trust or partner in a Family LP. It is a massive conflict of interest and allows for abuses like these to happen. It needs to stop, but unfortunately, unless we have a law forbidding it, it will continue to happen.
