City announces furlough dates

Nearly all of the Annapolis City government, including trash pickup and street cleaning, will close for four days this year: Sept. 3, Nov. 12, Nov. 26 and Dec. 27, the city announced late Friday.

While city offices will be closed on these dates, fire and police personnel will take their furlough days on a rotating department-by-department basis, and public safety will not be compromised on these dates, said city spokesman Phill McGowan. At the Harbor Master Office, which provides services for visiting boaters, managers will be furloughed on these dates, but the office will stay open with part-time personnel.

Great, can't you just smell those crabs sitting around after the Labor Day weekend until Sept. 7th? That was a smart decision!

You folks in the city need to get with it and elect compettent folks! (Comment directed not just at this decision, but in the last 8 years of elections that got us to this).

Also need to wake up to the fact that so far Josh is no better than Moyer...
