A sport utility vehicle crashed through the front wall of a vacant Odenton day care center yesterday morning, tearing through a newly constructed office, preschool room and kitchenette before stopping at the back of the freshly renovated building.

The co-owner of the business, which was not yet operating, accidentally crashed the SUV into the day care center at 1586 Annapolis Road around 8:35 a.m. No one was inside the facility, and no injuries were reported. Had the crash happened a couple weeks from now, it would have been a tragedy. Dr. Evelyn Obeng-Darko, co-owner of the business, said she would have been sitting in the office and young children would have been playing in the preschool room where the SUV came to a stop. But The Dr. Evelyn Learning Center, at 1586 Annapolis Road in the Fort View Plaza shopping center, was not yet open...
