It is most popular for its imaginative wood playground, picnic sites and 12-acre lake (freshwater fishing license required). Park and Office HoursLake Waterford Park is open from 7am to Sunset (see park closing signs). May 1 to Oct. 30, lighted basketball and tennis courts are available to the public until 10pm on Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat, and Sun (no lights Mon and Thu). The park is open year-round (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas). The Park Office is open Mon-Fri from 9am to 2pm. Call 410-222-6248 for additional information.Pavilion RentalsLake Waterford Park has three pavilions available for rent (reservations must be made in advance). Groups over 20 people must reserve a pavilion to hold a picnic at the park. The large pavilion is located in the picnic area near the playground. A group is allowed up to 200 people. The park also has two smaller pavilions that are located near the lake in a more secluded area of the woods. A group is allowed up to 100 people at each pavilion. NO ALCOHOL is allowed in the park.Adopt a Duck ProgramTo help preserve Lake Waterford Park's domestic duck and geese population,the Friends of Lake Waterford Park have established the Adopt-A-Duck Program. Contributions made to the program help feed and care for the park's duck and geese. Choose one of the three contribution levels and call the park office for additional instructions. Duck ($10)
Contributors receive an Adopt-A-Duck certificate and their name inscribed on a wood duck, which is displayed in the Adopt-a-Duck bulletin board. Goose ($20) Contributors receive an Adopt-A-Duck certificate, their name inscribed on a wood duck which is displayed in the Adopt-A-Duck bulletin board, and an Adopt-A-Duck t-shirt. Swan ($40) Contributors receive an Adopt-A-Duck certificate, their name inscribed on a wood duck, which is displayed in the Adopt-A-Duck bulletin board, and two Adopt-A-Duck t-shirts.
