Annapolis Waterworks is a 45-acre park located on Defense Highway; access is available by permit only. The park includes restrooms, benches, picnic pavilions, nature areas, hiking trails and fishing (catch & release only).

Permits are available to residents of Anne Arundel County only and must be purchased in person at the City of Annapolis Recreation and Parks office at 9 St. Mary's Street. Identification is required to prove residency. Permits are sold the 15th of the previous month (or the next business day).

A limited supply of quarterly permits are available. Quarters are January/February/March; April/May/June; July/August/September; October/November/December. The fee is $10 per month/$30 per quarter. The city also has a limited supply of monthly permits.

Permits for the quarter July/Aug/Sept as well as the monthly permits for July will be sold beginning at 8:30 am on June 15.
