Navy has capitalized on the fumble recovery by Jabaree Tuani. The Midshipmen are wearing down the Blue Hens' defense and the result was an easy 37-yard touchdown drive that took just four plays. Slotback Gee Gee Greene opened the drive with a 10-yard gain on a pitchout. Fullback Alexander Teich broke a 39-yard run up the middle to get the ball down to the 2-yard line. Navy may have just done what was necessary to win this game. Punter Kyle Delahooke delivered another great punt that pinned Delaware back at its own 12-yard line. Navy's defense then stopped the visitors on three downs and forced a punt, which Mario Washington returned to midfield.

It's uncanny. For the fourth time in the game, Delaware drove deep into Navy territory and had to settle for a field goal. This time, the Blue Hens reached the home team's 3-yard line and could not punch the ball into the end zone, settling for a 21-yard field goal by Joe Striefsky, who has tied the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium record with four field goals.

Navy took the opening kickoff of the second half and drove 64 yards on 11 plays to retake the lead, 14-9. It was an efficient drive with the Midshipmen picking up 4, 5 and 6 yards per carry. Big play was a 21-yard pass completion from quarterback Ricky Dobbs to wide receiver Mario Washington on third-and-six. Dobbs scored on a 1-yard dive and now has 19 rushing touchdowns - one shy of the single-season school record held by quarterback Chris McCoy.

Navy has been out-gained 186 yards to 105. Fullback Vince Murray is sitting out today with a sore shoulder and he has been missed. Alexander Teich has one carry for only 3 yards while the Midshipmen have rushed for just 79 yards as a team. Quarterback Ricky Dobbs has been the primary weapon, rushing for 35 yards on 10 carries.

Meanwhile, Delaware has 117 yards rushing with tailbacks Jerry Butler and David Hayes combining for 83 of that....

That letdown that Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo was so worried about has become a reality. The Midshipmen have turned in a listless effort on both sides of the ball so far. After scoring on its opening possession, the Navy offense has done absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, the defense has been on the field for most of the first half -- largely because it can't get a third-down stop.
