Upon her arrival at Crofton Elementary School on Jan. 20, Spence was ushered into the school's library where a teacher's desk was set up just for her. Prominently displayed was a placard with her name as well as an inbox, a box of tissues and a vase filled with fresh flowers.

Arriving at the school at the end of lunch period, Louie energized the crowd as his spokesperson read aloud a poem to pinpoint the winner of the poster-design contest.
