The bare patches on the roof of Chrysalis House, the result of recent high winds that have ripped shingles off, are visible when driving by the location at 1570 Crownsville Road.

And staff members aren't sure they have the money for the needed repairs.

The first time Ian Hornick volunteered to help with the middle-school robotics tournament at Annapolis Area Christian School, he loved it.

"I had so much fun, I wanted others to enjoy that," he said.
