Caller said he represented Queen Anne's department

A telemarketing company got more than it bargained for when one of its employees dialed the number of Queen Anne's County Sheriff R. Gery Hofmann.

Over the past two months, several county residents, including Sheriff Hofmann, had complained about misleading phone solicitations from the local Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 108.

Wheeler Baker's era on the water draws to a close

Some things were the same yesterday at the 18th Annual Thunder on the Narrows on Kent Island.

Power boats raced around Prospect Bay, humming like a million bees and throwing "rooster tails" of spray into the air to mix with the smell of pit beef sandwiches. People gathered on the shoreline and grouped onto boats floating near the race course, drinking beer and socializing.
