The Coast Guard suspended its search for a Pasadena man Friday, one day after he apparently fell off a work barge near Annapolis.

Gregory Luckett, of the 8600 block of Head Harbour, fell into the water near the mouth of the South River near Thomas Point.

He fell off the back of a 25-foot construction barge while returning from a work site, Coast Guard officials in Baltimore said.

Three early-morning crashes in the county sent six people to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Friday, county police and fire officials said.

The crashes took place within two hours during morning rush hour.

At just after 8 a.m., the driver of a blue Ford Escort lost control of the vehicle while traveling on the ramp from Nursery Road to Interstate 695 in Linthicum, county police said.

Someone broke three light fixtures at a city recreation center overnight Wednesday, city police said.

Officers were called to 1701 Belle Court and found that three light fixtures had been broken between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. yesterday. The lights are on the rear deck area of the center, police said.

The lights are valued at $50 each.

A veteran state trooper was convicted this week of first-degree assault after an incident in Hanover last May in which he pointed a gun at a man he thought was having an affair with his wife.
