Swine flu vaccine coming to 9 area high schools

The H1N1 vaccine is coming to a high school cafeteria near you.

The face of the staff at county public schools is becoming a bit more diverse, as officials try to add more minority and male educators to a mostly white and female teaching force.

According to data released at the county Board of Education's meeting Wednesday, 20.6 percent of last year's new hires were minorities, compared with 17.6 percent two years ago, and 21.6 percent were men, compared with 20.1 percent two years ago.
