TEAM USA 2, GLORY 0

Prince George's Stadium was the site of the largest non-Olympics crowd to watch the U.S. Olympic softball team compete against the National Pro Fast Pitch League's Washington Glory Saturday. Prior to the game, members of the 2007 Glory were awarded their championship rings for winning last season's NPF title.

Attendance for the "Bound 4 Beijing" exhibition game at Bowie was 8,724 - just 26 seats shy of the all-time record set during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

The Bowie crowd enjoyed a spirited match that remained a scoreless tie until the bottom of the sixth inning when Andrea Duron and Natasha Watley drove in the game-winning RBIs for Team USA. While Glory pitchers Sarah Pauly and Amy Harre each gave up two hits and combined for four strikeouts, national team pitchers Monica Abbott, Cat Osterman and Jennie Finch combined to give up only five hits, no runs and struck out 13.
