Soprano Emily E. Casey

will give her senior recital Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Her accompanist is Dr. Kathleen Vadala, choral director at Elizabeth Seton High School. A senior at Elizabeth Seton, Casey will begin her study of vocal performance at Catholic University of America's School of Music next year. She won the 2008 MSMTA Student Scholarship for Performance, took first place in the Music Teacher's Association of Bowie 2008 Classical Competition for vocal performance, second place in the MTAB 2008 Senior Awards, received the 2008 National School Choral Award, the 2007 Excellence in Music Scholarship Award, and the 2004 High School Music Scholarship from Elizabeth Seton High School. Casey has studied voice with Sylma Gottlieb since 2001, been in several musicals with 2nd Star Productions, had starring roles with St. Pius X Players' summer productions and been a cantor and choir member at St. Pius X for eight years.
