The Western District Police Community Relations Council continues to introduce Western District officers to the community when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Western District Station, 8273 Telegraph Road, Odenton.
This month detective Luis Gonzales, head of the Western District Tactical Narcotics Team, will discuss the role of his unit in policing the district.
In other council news, Shred-A-Rama II will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17 at Cancun Cantina, 7501 Old Telegraph Road, Hanover. The public can take personal documents to be shredded and recycled. This is a safe and environmentally-friendly way to depose of papers containing phone numbers, bank account numbers or Social Security numbers that in the wrong hands can devastate a person's finances.
The council's meeting at 7:30 p.m. June 11 will be its last before a two-month summer break. The community is encouraged to take along its concerns and issues to discuss at the open forum meeting.

Bingo at Elks

Delegates at SIA
The Severn Improvement Association will host state Sen. Ed DeGrange Sr., D-Glen Burnie, and Del. Mary Ann Love, D-Glen Burnie, from District 32, as they give an overview of legislative work completed during this session and address any concerns of the community.
The discussion will take place during the general meeting starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the association's building, 460 Queenstown Road, Severn on Wednesday.
